Our story

Rooted in this place

Grown on our family farm. Created in the Cow Shed.

My flowers grow in raised beds beside an old farm shed: sweet peas, cosmos, sunflowers, snapdragons and dahlias. Every stem is cut, conditioned and arranged by hand, and because I'm small, every order gets my full attention.

With love, from The Cow Shed

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow.Matthew 6:28

Our story

From old cow shed to floral studio

How a working farm building on Mullintor Farm became a home for flowers, one stage at a time.

  1. May 2024

Where it all began: an old calf shed, not in the best of shape. But God gave us a vision for it.

  2. Finding just the right shade of blue for the door.

  3. A fresh coat of white brings the old walls back to life.

  4. New window panes, with frames painted to match. It's all in the details.

  5. From the outside, it's starting to look the part.

  6. Then the real work began inside.

  7. Dust mask on, drill in hand: demolition day.

  8. Out with the old stalls.

  9. The digger clears the rubble, with the farm dogs supervising.

  10. A new level floor goes down.

  11. Back to the bare stone walls.

  12. The first worktable takes its place.

  13. Cutting timber for the fit-out.

  14. Clearing the last of the rubble, with a little help.

  15. Load after load of rubble carried away.

  16. The old stone wall, ready for new wiring.

  17. Nothing wasted: old pallets saved for a new life.

  18. Learning new skills, one cut at a time.

  19. Cladding the wall with the old pallet wood.

  20. Up on the roof to take off the old.

  21. Stripping the roof back from the platform.

  22. Off with the old roof…

  23. …and on with the new, with the farm dog keeping watch.

  24. New lighting brings the shed to life.

  25. Tables and chairs ready for workshops and gatherings.

  26. The kitchen goes in.

  27. Finished with a traditional Belfast sink.

“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it”PSALM 127:1

Let's grow together

Hear first when wreath orders and workshops open, and what's blooming in the patch.

I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.1 Corinthians 3:6
